Maintaining a Healthy Diet & Staying Hydrated

Most of the time when we're working at home, we're either not eating enough or eating a little too much. Either you're working on a project and you suddenly find yourself close to the kitchen looking for a snack to munch or you've been so busy jumping from one meeting to the next, that you completely forget to eat anything all day.

Most of the time when we’re working at home, we’re either not eating enough or eating a little too much. Either you’re working on a project and you suddenly find yourself close to the kitchen looking for a snack to munch or you’ve been so busy jumping from one meeting to the next, that you completely forget to eat anything all day. If you’ve been working from home recently, you might be able to relate with this.

Here are a few tips to control your diet and make sure that you stay healthy and safe during this pandemic:

1) Create a meal & snack schedule

Just like your work schedule, also create a meal & snack schedule that you adhere to as much as possible. If you like to eat around noon, set a reminder on your phone so you don’t forget. Treat food like you would in the office. You can’t be grazing all day long when you’re there – so act the same way at home.

2) Meal prep

Just like you would prepare your lunch when going in to the office, same way, you should prepare a bunch of meals when you have some off time. It doesn’t need to be anything fancy either. A bag of lettuce, precut veggies, grilled chicken and nuts is a simple form of meal prep that takes out all the guess work.

3) Drink lots of water

Dehydration can lead to body ache, fatigue, and headaches, which are definitely not good for your productivity. Just as you’d fill up a water bottle at the office to keep next to you, keep water next to you at home too. If you have water by your side, chances are you’re more likely to drink it, helping you reach your goal of at least 64 ounces per day.

This should keep you on the right path when it comes to maintaining your diet while working from home.
