Alex was born and raised in Calgary. She grew up playing soccer, basketball, and rugby and has been no stranger to injuries. Working closely with physiotherapists in her youth inspired Alex to pursue a similar career path, and by age 14 she knew she wanted to be part of the profession. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology at the University of Calgary and a Masters in Physiotherapy at the University of Alberta. Alex loves working with athletes and helping them return to sport after injuries. Experience as a strength and conditioning coach allows Alex to bring training principles to the forefront of her Physiotherapy treatments. Her focus is to find the root cause of movement dysfunctions and retrain the body in optimal movement patterns.
Alex has a special interest in TMJ, neck and postural pain, as well as pelvic girdle and sacroiliac pain. Alex’s interest in treating pelvic floor dysunfction includes working closely with patients who may be experiencing bowel/bladder concerns, sexual dysfunction and pain, and addressing concerns related to pregnancy and postpartum recovery.
