Our Services
Routine eye examinations are an important part of health maintenance for everyone. During a complete eye health exam, we not only determine your prescription for glasses and contacts, but also check your eyes for common eye diseases, assess how your eyes work together as a team, and evaluate your eyes as an indicator of your overall health. Even if you believe your vision is fine, our routine eye exam can detect serious underlying conditions such as glaucoma, retinal tears or retinal holes, diabetic retinopathy, ocular and brain tumors, dry eyes and contact lens related disorders. Left undetected, these and other conditions can result in vision loss and very serious health problems.
As a comprehensive eye health care provider, we are able to exchange vital health information with other eye specialists inside and outside of the Surrey Eye Care Centre. We have caring and well trained staff, and in the Surrey Eye Care Centre we have access to very advanced vision technology to assist us in diagnosing and monitoring your eye health. In addition to emergency referrals for serious eye problems requiring immediate attention, we also offer laser surgery co-management.
Adults should have a comprehensive eye examination every two years to check for early signs of eye disease and to keep their prescriptions current. For seniors and children, a yearly eye exam is recommended. Children should first be seen at 12 months of age, or younger if there are specific concerns.
In addition to routine eye examinations, we specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of Low Vision Conditions. We provide training and education on low vision devices and new developments in low vision treatments. With appropriate devices and training, patients with low vision can learn to use their remaining vision to its full potential so that they can live as independently as possible.
