Electrolysis will not affect the appearance of or remove the colouring from your tattoos

Unlike laser hair reduction, electrolysis is far more versatile as it is able to treat every type of hair and skin type regardless of the colour and coarseness. It is important to understand not everyone would be considered an ideal candidate for laser hair reduction treatments as lasers work directly on colour targeting pigmentation of both the hair and skin. This is why laser reduction treatments may be limited to showing only a reduction in the coarseness of hair on people with light complexions and dark hair. Once the pigmentation of the hair and skin becomes lighter, laser no longer recognizes the hair and the finer lighter hairs will still remain. Laser hair reduction treatments are not recommended for areas of the body with tattoos. A laser will reduce the colouring of your tattoo by 75%.

Electrolysis directly targets the root, by cutting off the blood and oxygen supply to the hair inside the follicle. It does not affect the pigmentation of the hair or skin. Thus, electrolysis is suitable for anyone as every visible hair on your body can be individually treated and permanently removed.
