Fresh Green Smoothie Recipe!

Picky Diet, Weight loss, Ancaster, Ontario

Oh the amazing power of greens!

Energy, antioxidants, blood purification, fibre, vitamins...

So healthy and so healing.

Blending greens into smoothie releases even more essential nutrients that we don't always get when eating them whole.

This Fresh Green Smoothie has the perfect name - it is super fresh and light with a dash of mint and a touch of sweetness. It is not as thick as a typical smoothie and is almost more of a juice - I like to have it for breakfast with a side of apple and almond butter or take it to go with a Super Seed & Nut Square.

It also makes a perfect, light and energizing afternoon snack!
Enjoy...

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup chopped cucumber (about a 2-3 inch piece)
  • 1 cup packed baby spinach or kale
  • 7 - 10 fresh mint leaves
  • 1 Tbsp hemp seeds
  • 1 cup frozen pineapple

Tips & Nutrition

This smoothie is more like a juice when blended. If you would prefer it a bit more creamy you can add 1/2 an avocado or frozen banana.
You can amp up the protein by putting in a scoop of vanilla protein powder or adding an extra tablespoon of hemp or pumpkin seeds.

Method

Blend everything together in the order they are listed in a high speed blender until well combined.
