Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome is a syndrome where cysts grow on the ovaries and create hormonal imbalances in the body.
What can you do to increase your fertility?
There are many changes you can make to your lifestyle to help increase fertility rates. Exercise, good sleep, diet and essential oils, as well as limiting caffeine and alcohol intake are just some of the many changes you can make to increase your fertility. Exercise helps to regulate hormones and bodily functions, this increase will allow the body to perform its daily functions, much more efficiently than without. Studies have shown that those who get under 7 hours of sleep a night, their brain functions similarly to someone who is drunk. Getting 7 to 9 hours of sleep a night allows your body to fully shut down and reset for the next day. Getting 7 to 9 hours of sleep improves brain function as well as bodily functions, neurons are able to transport at a much quicker rate. ‘You are what you eat,’ is a true statement. The more highly processed and fatty foods you eat, the more poorly your body operates and the more likely you are to develop health problems. The food you eat has a huge impact on your health and well-being.
How do you know where to start?
To start I would recommend changing your diet and becoming active. Joining a gym and switching your diet to be full of whole foods and lots of vegetables are some of the best things you can do to improve your wellbeing and luckily for you, it can also make you more fertile. Hiring an experienced personal trainer is one of the best things you can do to help improve your fertility as your trainer will help you make the lifestyle changes required, monitor how you respond to the changes and help you to continuously make the changes required to improve your chances.
In my experience, my first ever client that came to me to lose weight and improve her fertility, is now hitting four months pregnant after not being able to conceive for over four years. She has lost over 35lbs and has trusted me every step of the way. She started training with me in September, one of the first things I did was take many notes on her current lifestyle; stress, occupation, diet, exercise, sleep, health issues, etc. She started to take vitamin d3, omegas and a multivitamin. We began making changes to her diet, correcting movement patterns and continued to progress over the 6 months we had working together before being out on bed rest while pregnant.
We found how much protein she could eat, before her kidneys would hurt. We found that she had severe adrenal fatigue and was able to make lifestyle changes and changes to our exercise together so her body was not under so much stress. She began to sleep better, be less stressed, and feel happier, stronger and more confident. Her life was changing drastically and she was so proud and now, she’s even happier! She is finally pregnant and getting close to having her first baby. Every person is different and requires different treatment for their needs the best way to make the progress you wish is to have someone keep you accountable and help you make the best changes you can on your current path.
